Botox and Dysport treatments don’t involve extended recovery — most patients resume their daily activities immediately. You’ll have to keep your head upright for a few hours and avoid massaging your face. You’ll also have to avoid strenuous workouts, saunas, and direct exposure to sunlight for a day.
You’ll start noticing the Botox/ Dysport results after 3 to 4 days, with continued improvements for up to 2 weeks. The final results last for up to 4 months with optimal treatment, following which you’ll need a maintenance treatment. Most patients receiving Dysport and Botox in Franklin need 3 to 4 sessions per year to maintain the results yearlong.
We recommend waiting at least 24 hours to exercise. Excessive blood flow and movement can metabolize toxins quicker, thus affecting treatment longevity. We also want to prevent the toxin from diffusing to other muscle groups while it is beginning to work.
If you are traveling for an event, we recommend getting your treatment 3-4 weeks before you leave, to allow us time for corrections if needed. You can be on an airplane after injections, but we recommend waiting 24 hours to be on the safe side.
Refrain from drinking alcohol 24 hours before coming in and 24 hours after. You can also purchase Arnica tablets from the studio, take one before and after treatment, and more if needed. We do not recommend using ice after a neurotoxin appointment. Any swelling from injection sites should subside within 4 hours post-injection.
